In the public school setting, Occupational Therapy (OT) is a related service that is provided through a student's Individual Educational Plan (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or Response to Intervention initiative. In the school setting, occupational therapy services are educationally relevant and address fine motor skills, self care independence and sensory processing. Service delivery models include providing direct minutes with the individually or as a group outside of class (often called "pull out"), direct minutes with the student within their classroom environment (often called "push in"), and consultation with the team of professionals working with the student.
