Start with 5 minutes of hand warm ups! You can do playdoh, putty, legos, or hand exercises shown below!
Then you can try some fun activities using those small muscles. Remember using these specific supplies isn't necessary, its using something small to practice the task they are doing (so you could substitute pennies for buttons).
Add a sensory or movement break in here. Pick one activity from each color (starting with yellow, then green, then blue). Have your child complete the listed exercise for 60 seconds before moving to the next color. Example: 60 seconds of bunny hops (yellow column), 60 seconds cross Crawls bringing hands to knees (green column), and ending with Plank for 60 seconds (blue column). If they have trouble with the exercise, just tell them to rest and then get back at it until the timer goes off. You can do it with them to increase their motivation!

You did it! Hope you had fun and enjoyed the set up of a mini-OT session you could try at home. The steps are put together to provide your child with a time to warm up their coordination in their hands, practice some skills, have a QUALITY movement break and finish with some more fun fine motor activities! These are just suggestions to try if you want things to do at home to keep building skills! Nothing posted is required! :)
